I’ve had an iPhone since iPhone 4. Once I got an iPhone, I became one of “those” Apple people. In my collection is an iPad, MacBook, & iMac and I love all of them so I will try not to be bias in my review and do my best to do an honest review!
I previously had an iPhone 6+. I downloaded iOS 10 on my old iPhone so I could get used to the new iOS but to me there wasn’t that much of a change. Apple was hyping it up to be “the biggest update yet”; however, I think the biggest update was when from iOS 6 to iOS 7 (when the icons got a much need new look). My initial thought of iOS 10 was “oh no, what did I do?” because the battery life was awful. However, I read that when you first do an update that your phone is going through a lot on the backend so it drains a lot at first then gets better and thankfully that’s what happened. Ever since updating my iOS, the battery life was a little better on my iPhone 6+.
My Thoughts on My iPhone 7+
I rarely do the upgrade when Apple does the “s” version of the iPhones. So needless to say, I was excited for the iPhone 7+. I preordered the phone and it arrived on September 21 and I couldn’t wait to start using it. I backed up my iPhone 6+, then switched SIM cards and restored my backup on my iPhone 7+. The whole thing went really smoothly, although it did take about an hour or so. Once everything was done, I started playing with it.
My favorite changes so far are the cameras. Both the rear and front facing camera got a major upgrade. The front facing camera on the iPhone 6+ was definitely not the best quality, but it worked; however, the front facing camera on the iPhone 7+ has significantly improved. I’m excited to use my new phone to take pictures to post on my Instagram!
So far the weirdest thing for me is the new home button. I personally feel like when I push the home button, the whole phone moves. The best way I’ve been able to explain is this: you remember the game Trouble that you had to push the dice container and it popped? That’s what it feels like! I never really notice when the iPhones get new chips, but the iPhone 7+ is definitely faster than the iPhone 6+. Apple claims that the new iPhone is water proof but I won’t be testing that out (at least if I don’t have to)!
I really am looking forward to playing with my new iPhone and seeing all that it has to offer. With my current cell phone plan, I get an upgrade once a year so lets see what happens in this next year!
What kind of phone do you have? Are you an Apple person?
